No more debates, no more political ads, no more special broadcasts. It’s time to get back to the reality of TV.
Now that we all have witnessed, and, I hope, you all participated in, an event that’s sure to be featured in history books, our televisions can return to their normal programming. I attempted to write a column that would relate reality TV to this year’s election but found it impossible.
My only hope is that Obama can turn this country around so that we don’t all end up playing a real-life game of “Survivor.”
This year’s presidential race had far more drama, many more viewers and a lot more ballots cast than even “American Idol” could ever hope of getting.
So let’s prepare to leave it all behind for a little bit and take a break on the couch with a cozy blanket as we hunker down for the long winter ahead.
There’s plenty of drama left to entertain us as Bravo prepares to heat things up in the kitchen with a new series of “Top Chef” set to premiere at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 12.
I was sucked in to watching part of a rerun of last season’s finale, but I think we’re in for a whole new recipe this time around. I’ve seen the preview, but for your own sneak peek be sure to visit www.bravotv.com to meet the contestants and pick your favorites before the show airs.
I also received a special e-mail alert this week from “Trivial Pursuit: America Plays” to let me know that beginning Monday, Nov. 10, former “Brady Bunch” star Christopher Knight and all of his “Brady” siblings will make appearances on the show.
I’m not very excited, but hopefully some of you are.
The next week might prove more interesting and entertaining with “Judges Week,” which will feature Judge Joe Brown and Judge Cristina Perez.
What? No Judge Judy? We can only hope that the sassiest judge on TV makes an appearance.
Unfortunately, I couldn’t find any show times for those of you with cable or anyone still using the old antenna method to get their TV, but there are listings for satellite users in Greater Bangor.
