AUGUSTA – Maine’s secretary of state has received two more requests for ballot recounts from the Nov. 4 elections.

The secretary of state’s office announced Wednesday that Democrat Ruth-Marie Spellman of Brewer wants a recount in her race against Republican Michael Celli of Brewer for the House District 21 race. Preliminary results indicated Celli was the winner by a count of 2,457 to 2,388.

Incumbent Republican Michael Vaughan of Durham has also requested a recount in his race for House District 105 against Democrat David Van Wie of New Gloucester. The preliminary tally gave Van Wie 2,797 votes to Vaughn’s 2,712 votes.

In all, the secretary of state received seven recount requests by the deadline at the end of Wednesday.
