AUGUSTA – A ballot recount in state Senate District 2 has confirmed that Republican incumbent Richard Nass of Acton has won the race against Democratic challenger Richard Burns of Berwick.

The original tally on election night on Nov. 4 was 10,707 to 10,322, in favor of Nass. According to the Secretary of State’s Office, the total after the recount was 10,786 to 10,352.

The Secretary of State’s Office received seven requests for recounts after the election.

Another recount is scheduled for Friday.
