BANGOR – Residents of Penobscot and Piscataquis counties have a new resource to help them make healthful lifestyle choices and live longer, more active lives. Whatyoudomatters.org – a Web site created by Healthy Maine Partnerships in Penobscot and Piscataquis counties in partnership with the Maine Network for Health and Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems – provides simple and easy-to-understand health and wellness information on issues such as managing chronic medical conditions, selecting a healthful diet and establishing an effective exercise routine.

The site also maintains a calendar of local health-related events connecting residents of Penobscot and Piscataquis counties with services specific to their needs and interests.

“There’s an increasing awareness that the behaviors we choose impact our health both now and in the future,” said Jamie Comstock, health promotion program manager for the city of Bangor’s Health and Community Services Department. “People are taking control of their health, and this Web site is designed to connect them with information that will allow them to achieve the best possible outcome.”

The Web site address is www.whatyoudomatters.org.
