HAMPDEN – The East boys defeated the West 5-3 while the West girls edged the East 3-2 during the Maine Soccer Coaches 14th Annual Senior Bowl Sunday at Hampden Academy.

In the boys game, Katahdin of Stacyville’s Ethan Qualey and Marshall Davis each scored a goal. Matt Peabody of Brunswick, Warren Zubrick of Presque Isle and Jacob Stevens of Machias each chipped in with a goal. Caribou’s Eric Brown and Searsport Dan Peach shared goalkeeping duties.

Scarborough’s Ian Philbrick, Yarmouth’s John Murphy and Saint Dominic of Auburn’s Matthew Barlion each scored a goal for the West. Scarborough’s Adam Blanchard, Westbrook’s Galen Perkins and Falmouth’s Adam Lamoureux all played in goal.

In the girls game, Tess Beem scored two goals to lead the West and Jenn Levine added a goal. Lisbon’s Samantha Purcell and Valley of Bingham’s Alyssa Vitalone were in goal.

Alida Peake of George Stevens Academy in Blue Hill and Stephanie Whitten of Waterville each scored a goal for the East. Lewiston’s Katie Cobb and Bangor Christian’s Moriah Bach were in goal.
