MACHIAS – The University of Maine-Machias Clippers used a balanced scoring attack to edge the Thomas College Terriers 74-69 Monday night in men’s basketball action.

Eric Righter paced the Clippers with 15 points and 11 rebounds and Gerardo Vasquez added 13 points. Moti Kadish and Brian Alexander each chipped in with 11 points.

Darrell Alexander led Thomas with 18 points and Isaiah Brathwaite added 16. James Liebowitz contributed 11 points and 11 rebounds.

At Castine Sunday, Alli Gamache’s 21 points led the University of New England of Biddeford past Maine Maritime.

Kari Pelletier and Margo Russell netted 17 points apiece for the 1-0 Nor’Easters while Russell added 12 rebounds.

Katie Pushard paced the 0-1 Mariners with 16 points and six assists. Tatum Welch had 15 points and nine rebounds.
