Outlook: The Black Bears want to build on their first 2-0 start in 10 years by continuing to play solid defense and hold teams below 40 percent shooting. Both Maine and Princeton have played solid Mid-American Conference teams with the Tigers coming off a 55-53 setback against Central Michigan. The Bears must guard against a very disciplined system featuring Princeton’s trademark backdoor cuts by dictating tempo, winning the battle of the boards, taking care of the ball and scoring transition points. The Bears match up well in terms of size, but Princeton also has big guards who crash the boards. Both teams are averaging 21 turnovers a game, so turnovers will be a key factor.
