AUGUSTA – A London-based financial services company that opened a call center over the summer in Wilton plans to add 25 more jobs.

Gov. John Baldacci said Barclays PLC now employs about 70 people and will add the 25 new jobs by the first quarter of 2009. Workers will provide support services for people who have credit cards that Barclays offers in the United States.

Barclays, which has 4.7 million credit card accounts in the U.S., said it projects having 200 employees in Maine in the next decade. The company offers co-branded cards with retailers, airlines, travel companies and financial institutions.
