MILO – Three Rivers Kiwanis Club of Milo and Brownville will sponsor the American Jamboree’s Country Western Jamboree 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 29, at the Milo Town Hall to benefit its Secret Santa project.
Doors open at 4:30 p.m. Refreshments will be for sale and door prizes will be awarded. Tickets for the Murrel Harris Memorial 50-50 raffle will be available, which will be drawn after intermission. Thus far, more than $1,800 in tickets have been sold.
Annually, Three Rivers Kiwanis provides area children under 16 with Christmas gifts through its Secret Santa project.
Club members report that, as the economy worsens, the list of needs for children increases and the list will be especially long this year.
Funding for this project comes from fundraisers such as the jamboree, donations by organizations or individuals and Three Rivers Kiwanis Club.
Donations for this project may be made at, or mailed to, Maine Savings Federal Credit Union Bank, 122 Park St., Milo 04463.
Any organizations or individuals wishing to “adopt” children for this project may call Kiwanian Bonnie Hurley at 943-5645.
