Four Maine men charged in poaching investigation

AUGUSTA – The Maine Warden Service has issued summonses to four men from eastern Maine, charging them with illegally killing or possessing moose, deer and turkeys.

Lt. Doug Tibbetts said Tuesday that the charges include killing moose out of season, killing deer without a permit, exceeding the bag limit on deer and possession of turkeys during a closed season. As part of their investigation, wardens seized dead deer and moose body parts.

The men were identified as 45-year-old Larry Oliver of Danforth, 24-year-old Thomas Kenyon of Weston, 41-year-old Jeff Miller of Danforth and 24-year-old Travis Potter of Wytopitlock.

Kenyon and Potter also were charged with drug offenses.
