Glenburn youth Eagle Scout

GLENBURN – Andrew Guerin has achieved the rank of Eagle Scout in the Boy Scouts of America. He is the son of Joseph and Stacey Guerin of Glenburn and is the third of five brothers. He has been a member of Bangor Troop 10 and Venture Crew 210.

Guerin’s Eagle Court of Honor was held at All Souls Congregational Church in Bangor. It was highlighted with an official recognition of his achievement by the Maine Senate and House of Representatives. Letters of congratulations were read from President Bush, U.S. Sen. Susan Collins and state Rep. Chris Greeley.

The ceremony included the Eagle Scout candle ceremony. At a reception afterward, Guerin enjoyed the congratulations of the many attendees.

Guerin’s achievement was the culmination of years of hard work.

He earned 28 merit badges and completed all of the necessary advancements to reach the rank of Eagle Scout. He also completed an extensive Eagle Scout volunteer project at Columbia Street Baptist Church in Bangor, where he built eight locking storage closets for the use of the church and community groups that meet there.

The combination of outdoor adventures, merit badges and community service resulted in the proud accomplishment of Eagle Scout for Andrew Guerin.
