BANGOR – More than 60 “Keep the Promise” campaign donors and community leaders attended a special reception at the home of Bill and Sally Arata on the evening of Nov. 18.
The event celebrated the successful conclusion of the Acadia Hospital’s first capital campaign, with more than $1.1 million raised to support strategic improvements at the region’s resource for the treatment of psychiatric illness and chemical dependency.
Reception highlights included the introduction of Acadia’s new president and CEO, David S. Proffitt, and a $15,000 check presentation made by Rudman & Winchell managing partner John McCarthy.
The check was presented by McCarthy to Acadia board vice chair Rick Lyons, and Proffitt.
McCarthy took the opportunity to share the firm’s commitment the creation of the Pediatric and Family Center on the Acadia campus. The center will be dedicated to child and adolescent outpatient programs, and the hospital’s school programming.
