THOMASTON – The General Henry Knox Museum, Montpelier will open its doors for the annual holiday open house from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, and Sunday, Dec. 7. Admission is free both days.
Families and friends are invited to walk through the 1790s kitchen where several women with their spinning wheels welcome conversation. The Orientation Room will be set up with fresh baked goods for sale and a delicious punch will be served. Rooms on the Salon Level of the museum will be decorated with traditional Christmas greens and fragrant fruits. Items from the Museum Gift Shop also will be available.
Volunteer Steve Watts of Sweet Sensations in Rockport has created a wonderful gingerbread house valued at $75.
Raffle tickets for the house will be available both days at our membership tables in the Orientation Room and Salon Hallway. The drawing will take place at 3 p.m. Sunday.
Montpelier’s Oval Room also will be hosting several musical groups performing seasonal and period music.
