BANGOR – A 23-year-old man from Guatemala has been sentenced to 87 days behind bars and will be processed for deportation for using false identification documents while in Maine illegally.
According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Angel Mario Guzman-Reyes was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Bangor.
Guzman-Reyes was arrested in September while working as a laborer in Easton, where prosecutors say he used false Social Security and permanent resident cards to obtain employment.
He pleaded guilty in September and now faces deportation proceedings.
