DOVER-FOXCROFT – The 2009 Piscataquis County budget will be discussed at the Issues & Eggs Breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Nor’easter Restaurant in Dover-Foxcroft.

The “State of the County” will be the topic of the event, sponsored by the Piscataquis Chamber of Commerce.

Salaries, jail consolidation and more will be discussed.

Chamber Executive Director Russ Page said the final Issues & Eggs event of 2008 is probably the most important one of the year.

“With the state’s economy in the tank, unemployment on the rise and the hit we’re taking on Wall Street, our people and our communities are in no mood for higher taxes,” Page said.

The cost of the buffet meal is $7 per person, and all proceeds go toward the purchase of a new roof for the Chamber building.
