Beehive collective plans program Dec. 4

DEXTER – The Beehive Design Collective will present its current campaigns: “Mesoamerica Resiste” and “Mountaintop Removal Mining,” in a PowerPoint art education lecture 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Dexter Unitarian-Universalist Church.

The Beehive Design Collective is an all-volunteer, nonprofit art-activist group dedicated to making art murals as educational tools.

Mesoamerica Resiste is a project that focuses on giving voice to the many community-based alternatives to the Puebla Panama trade and development plan in southern Mexico, Central America and Colombia.

Mountaintop Removal Mining is a collaborative project that uses the storytelling traditions of Appalachia to illuminate the most extreme and shortsighted form of surface coal mining.

The public is welcome to attend. Donations to the Beehive Collective will be accepted at the door. For more information or to car-pool, call 564-8687.
