SCARBOROUGH – A ballot recount has confirmed that there won’t be slot machines in Scarborough anytime soon.
Election officials spent most of the day recounting more than 11,000 ballots that were cast Nov. 4 asking voters whether they wanted to allow slot machines at the Scarborough Downs horse track.
In the Nov. 4 count, the measure was defeated by 239 votes. In the recount, it was defeated by 240 votes.
