LEWISTON – Val Beckwith netted 20 points Thursday night as Bates College rolled to an 18-point halftime lead en route to a 75-49 women’s basketball victory over Wentworth Institute of Technology.
Maggie DePoy scored 17 points for Bates and Lee native Amanda Gifford added 10 points.
Kirsten Vallone led Wentworth with 15 points.

At Boston, Mike Jackson drained a 3-pointer as time expired to give Emmanuel College the win over Bates of Lewiston.
Jackson and Isaiah Duke each finished with 11 points while Rob Williams-Hinton added 10 for the winners.
