SKOWHEGAN – A Skowhegan man has been ordered to spend 14 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of his 5-week old daughter last March.

Mika Mitchell entered his plea Thursday in Somerset County Superior Court. Mitchell apologized to Justice William Anderson for his actions in the death of his daughter, Pandora, who died in March three days after being taken to a hospital with injuries. The medical examiner’s office ruled that the girl died of blunt force trauma.

Pandora’s mother, Tasha Lewis, told the judge that Mitchell hadn’t shown any remorse until Thursday.
