WHITNEYVILLE – Producers of livestock and associated products in Washington County are encouraged to attend the U.S. Department of Agriculture Farm Bill meeting 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, at the Hillgrove Community Hall on Route 1A.
Owners of dairies, livestock, and associated byproducts including hay, pasture and forests may bring questions about federal programs and services.
Joyce Swartzendruber, state conservationist with the USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service and Dave Lavway of the USDA Farm Services Agency will discuss how producers qualify for services and what services will be available under the 2009 Farm Bill.
The meeting’s host is the Washington County Soil and Water Conservation District. The location is handicapped-accessible, and refreshments will be served. Producers with special needs or questions should contact the district at 255-4659.
