PORTLAND – A man faces felony charges after allegedly swinging a hatchet at a man who caught him breaking into his car, according to police.
Police said a man reported that he spotted Jonathan Doyle, 22, of Portland entering his vehicle late Monday night.
When confronted, the car burglar took off on foot with the other man in pursuit.
When the victim caught up with Doyle, he allegedly pulled a hatchet from his belt and swung it twice – but missed hitting the man, police said.
When police arrived, they charged Doyle with burglary to a car, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapons and possession of burglary tools.
