TOWNSHIP 2 RANGE 8 – Two East Millinocket women were taken to a Lincoln hospital Friday for treatment of injuries they suffered in an accident on the Access Road.
The accident occurred shortly before 7 p.m., when Doris Bouchard, 62, missed a turn while en route to Interstate 95, left the roadway and traveled into the woods, striking a tree, according to state police Trooper Larry Anderson.
Bouchard and her passenger, 87-year-old Alfreda Daigle, both suffered multiple injuries in the crash, Anderson said. The two women, who were wearing seat belts when the crash occurred, were taken by ambulance to Penobscot Valley Hospital. A nursing supervisor said Friday night that both were in stable condition and were being evaluated by emergency room personnel.
Bouchard’s injuries included back and chest pain as well as injuries to her face, Anderson said. Daigle, who had a leg injury and neck pain, briefly lost consciousness after the crash but later regained it, according to the trooper.
Anderson said Bouchard’s Oldsmobile 1994 sedan was demolished in the accident, with most of the damage to the front end.
