BANGOR – The University of Maine Climate Change Institute will present another in a series of lectures at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 10, in the Lecture Hall at Bangor Public Library.
Stephen A Norton, professor emeritus of earth sciences and an internationally known geochemist, will speak on “Maine’s Air Pollution History: Distant Past to Near Future.”
In his presentation, Norton will reveal how archival natural records enable us to reconstruct aspects of Maine’s chemical climate since deglaciation 14,000 years ago and how direct measurements enable us to understand our present situation.
