EASTPORT – The Boat School on Dec. 19 will graduate its first students as a component of Husson University.

The Dec. 19 graduation will see diplomas handed to two men from Harpswell who began the two-year boat building program in January 2006. Josh Morse and Dan Perry traveled between Harpswell and Eastport attending school and maintaining their jobs as fishermen, school administrator John Miller said in a press release.

Husson took over the delivery of programs at the Eastport campus 16 months ago. Since its founding in 1969, The Boat School was administered as a campus of what now is known as the Maine Community College System. With the start of fall classes Aug. 29, 2007, students have been part of Husson.
