PORTLAND – The new workweek brought still lower gasoline prices in Maine and nationwide.
According to AAA, the average price for a gallon of regular stood at $1.86 in Maine on Monday.
That’s 59 cents lower than a month ago and $1.28 cheaper than a year ago, but it’s 14 cents higher than the national average.
The average price of diesel was $2.85 a gallon Monday. That’s down 39 cents in the past month and 75 cents in the past year.
AAA surveys up to 100,000 gas stations nationally for its daily price updates.
