Crouse goal carries PCHS past Dexter

GUILFORD – Jessie Crouse scored the winning goal with 3:48 left Saturday, lifting Piscataquis to a 4-3 girls soccer victory over Dexter.

Christine Davis scored twice for the 6-2-1 Pirates. Whitney Sinclair had tied it with 4:07 left and assisted on a goal. Crouse added an assist. Jill Martell made 12 saves on 15 shots.

Jana Kenney scored two goals and assisted on one for 3-7 Dexter and Sabrina Cote had a goal. Ashley Richardson stopped 10 of 18 shots.

Hampden 4, Bangor 2

At Bangor, Anna Lafayette scored a goal and had two assists, while Lilli Berube had a goal and one assist in the Broncos’ win over the Rams.

Jenna Shue and Katie Lawler had a goal each for 7-2 Hampden. Becca Workman made 10 saves on 12 shots.

Emily Heath and Erin Healey scored for the 4-5 Rams. Ilyse Angst had six saves on 10 shots.

John Bapst 5, Fort Kent 0

At Bangor, Caroline Cassling earned her fifth straight shutout with nine saves.

Haley Cutri had two goals and one assist for 7-1-1 John Bapst. Ashley Samford, Emily Synder and Elaine Colwell each scored a goal, while Taylor Greenlaw and Evelyn Sharkey had two assists apiece.

Hermon 2, Orono 1

At Orono, Chelsea Pottle scored the game-winner with 5:36 remaining in the game. Ashley Andrews also scored for Hermon and Paige McDonald saved seven of nine shots.

Kate Kirby scored the goal for Orono. Amanda Morrison made seven saves on 12 shots.

Central 3, DI-Stonington 0

At Corinth, Molly Chretien, Sadie Chretien and Erica Brownell each scored a goal to help lead Central. Nicole Daniel made two saves on four shots for the 4-4-1 Devils.

Bucksport 3, Nokomis 0

At Bucksport, Lindsey Gordon notched two goals as the 6-1-1 Golden Bucks won.

Rozlyn Peterson made 13 saves on 21 shots for the 0-9 Warriors of Newport.

Penobscot Valley 4, Schenck 0

At Howland, Randy Rackley led the Howlers with two goals and two assists. Kacy Foster and Ashley Dawson also had goals for 9-1 PVHS. Jenn Plourd saved seven of nine shots.

Robin Larlee made 10 saves on 28 shots for the 4-6-1 Wolverines of East Millinocket.

Greenville 3, Rangeley 1

At Greenville, Kahla Lander, Tasha Elsemore and Hannah Breton each scored a goal. Crystal Ferris, Lander and Breton had assists for the 9-1 winners. Beth Bartley made four saves on five shots.

Boys soccer

Nokomis 3, Bucksport 1

At Newport, Mat Thornton scored a goal and assisted on another to pace Nokomis to its first victory of the season.

Corey Harding and Eben McDaniel each scored for the 1-9 Warriors. John Stinsman had an assist. Wayne May made eight saves on 12 shots.

Central 2, DI-Stonington 1

At Corinth, Charles Haney scored the winner on a Thomas Robbins assist in overtime. Scott Kelley had the 6-4-1 Red Devils’ first goal. Charles Haney had 10 saves on 13 shots.

Penquis 4, Searsport 2

At Milo, Adam Ballash netted two goals as the 4-6 Patriots downed the Vikings.

Nathan Allen and Garrett Durant had a goal each. Jordan Allen had three assists and Noah Bissell one. Drew Hamlin made 15 saves on 17 shots.

Penobscot Valley 3, Schenck 1

At Howland, Ryan Ware scored on a Chad Trapier assist in the first half to lead Penobscot Valley to the win. Matt Cummings and Nick Hockridge added goals for 4-5-1 PVHS. Josh Ireland made 12 saves on 16 shots.

Will Hamlin scored unassisted for 4-5-1 Schenck of East Millinocket. Lanny Thompson had 13 saves on 18 shots.

Greenville 6, Rangeley 1

At Greenville, Jonah Lizotte scored four goals to lift Greenville to the victory. Kyle Belmont and Kyle Whitman also scored for 9-1 Greenville and Brandon Lavigne made 15 saves on 16 shots.

Field hockey

Central 3, Mattanawcook 0

At Corinth, Beth Dauphinee led 2-6-2 Central with three goals. Jenny Rollins, Courtney Hersey and Hilary Haney had an assist apiece. Kara Voisine made nine saves on nine shots.

Melany Markie made three saves on 13 shots for the 5-5-2 Lynx of Lincoln.

JV: Mattanawcook 3-0

Stearns 2, Piscataquis 1

At Guilford, Jamie Johnson and Trisha MacDonald scored in the Minutemen’s win.

Deanna Michaud faced nine shots and stopped six for Stearns of Millinocket.

Hattie Agnew scored for Piscataquis and Amy Knowlton made six saves on eight shots.
