BELFAST – Skye Ellis scored in each half as the top-ranked Belfast High School Lions eliminated eighth-ranked Camden Hills 2-0 in an Eastern Maine Class B field hockey quarterfinals Tuesday.
The game pitted Belfast coach Allen Holmes against his daughter, Camden Hills coach Jan Holmes-Jackson.
Jill Ross and Britt Cummings each contributed an assist for 15-0 Belfast. Liz Anderson stopped all five shots to come her way.
Georgia Smith stopped six of eight shots for the 9-6-1 Windjammers.
Class C
Piscataquis 3, Hall-Dale 0
At Guilford, Heather Tracey scored two goals to help lead No. 1 Piscataquis to the victory over No. 8 Hall-Dale.
Kellie Martel scored a first-half goal with 11:15 left for 13-2 Piscataquis and Sharon Ortiz had an assist. Amy Knowlton stopped five of seven shots.
Hibby Regan made 10 saves on 18 shots for 6-8-1 Hall-Dale.

Class D
So. Aroostook 1, DI-Stonington 0
At Dyer Brook, Travis Brooker converted a Tom St. Pierre pass with 3:13 left to lift No. 4 Southern Aroostook past No. 13 Deer Isle-Stonington.
Jeff Boutilier stopped all seven shots he faced to earn the shutout for 14-1 Southern Aroostook.
Thomas Robbins saved 19 of 20 shots for 6-9 Deer Isle-Stonington.
Shead 2, Calvary Chapel 1
At Eastport, Dana Bowen converted a penalty kick with 2:12 remaining to enable No. 8 Shead to eliminate ninth seed Calvary Chapel of Orrington.
A handball infraction resulted in the penalty kick.
Aaron Sullivan gave Shead a 1-0 lead in the first half but Bryan Miller equalized with a 40-yard direct kick with 29:49 left in regulation.
Craig Hastings made 10 saves on 14 shots for 10-5 Shead. Kalib Carmichael had five stops on 10 shots for Calvary Chapel, which finished at 8-3.
Machias 4, WA Raiders 3 (OT)
At Machias on Monday, Thomas Buck’s penalty kick gave the Bulldogs a 3-1 win in the shootout and the Downesat Athletic Conference title.
Jamie McCarthy notched three goals and Chase Ross an assist for 13-0 Machias. Marcus Frutchey had five saves on eight shots.
Miguel Lopez netted two goals and Drake Simmons one for the 11-3 Raiders of East Machias. Jeremy Gray stopped 11 out of 20 shots.
Bangor Christian 5, Ashland 2
At Bangor, Eric Sobey had a pair of goals and an assist as sixth-seeded Bangor Christian ousted 11th seed Ashland.
Ignacio Bustos had a goal and two assists and Justin Phinney had Zach Kutz had the other goals for 11-3-1 Bangor Christian and Micah Dougherty and Josh Griffin had assists.
Aaron Wilson made eight saves on 13 shots.
Jeremy Baker had both Ashland goals and Josh Chamberlin had an assist.
Luca Belanger made seven saves on 17 shots for 5-8-2 Ashland.
Washburn 2, Cen. Aroostook 0
At Washburn, Isaac Carney scored on a Sam Harris assist with 29:19 left in the first half to lead No. 7 Washburn past No. 10 Central Aroostook of Mars Hill.
The goal was Carney’s 28th on the season, breaking Washburn’s single-season record.
Zach Bird scored 11-3-1 Washburn’s second goal off a Steve Pesut corner kick with 7:55 left in regulation. Jason Thompson made 15 saves on 16 shots.
Jon Boyd stopped 15 of 19 shots for 9-4-1 Central Aroostook.
Van Buren 1, Katahdin 0 (OT)
At Van Buren, Ben Doucette scored on a rebound at 6:58 of overtime as No. 5 Van Buren outlasted No. 12 Katahdin of Stacyville.
Brandon Boulware set up the goal with a cross that caromed off the top of crossbar and went to Doucette.
Andrew Taylor made four saves on six shots for 13-2 Van Buren. Burton Brayall made 11 saves on 14 shots for 5-8-2 Katahdin.
Class A
Bangor 3, Morse 0
At Bangor, Dylan George scored a pair of goals and Jojo Hwalek had two assists as the fourth-seeded Rams ousted No. 13 Morse of Bath.
George, a junior, now has 26 goals on the season for 12-2-1 Bangor.
Troy Jellison also scored for the Rams, while Tyler Garrett added an assist. Aaron Taft made one save on five shots to earn the shutout for Bangor.
John Miller made seven saves on 17 shots for 4-10-1 Morse.
Class B
Caribou 2, MCI 1
At Caribou, Eamonn Harrigan scored off of a Ben Wakana assist with 27:13 left in the game to give No. 8 Caribou the victory over No. 9 Maine Central Institute of Pittsfield.
Seth Swanberg added an unassisted goal with 18:24 left for 8-7 Caribou. Brad Ala made 10 saves on 23 shots.
Dustin Varney scored on a Don Lee assist with 7:41 left for 8-7 MCI. Tristan Goewey stopped nine of 27 shots.
Camden Hills 2, Foxcroft 1
At Camden, senior midfielder Frankie O’Hara scored eight seconds after Foxcroft had tied the game as he dribbled past three Ponies before tucking a low 18-yarder inside the post to the right of goalie James Tirrell with 14:40 remaining.
Victor Planella had scored the tying goal.
Corey McLean staked No. 7 Camden Hills to a 1-0 lead in the first half off a David Pike pass.
Andrew Rogers made seven saves for the 10-5 Windjammers while Tirrell finished with 15 for the 10th-seeded Ponies, who wound up 7-7-1.
Hermon 2, John Bapst 1
At Hermon, Joey Carmichael scored the game-winner with five minutes left in the second overtime as he converted a Ryan Tarr pass.
The pair also scored the tying goal, with Tarr scoring and Carmichael assisting. Corey Stanhope made 17 saves on 18 shots for the sixth-seeded Hawks, now 9-6.
Nick Hubbard scored unassisted for the No. 11 Crusaders of Bangor, who finished 4-9-2. Chris Smith faced 13 shots, saving 11.

Madawaska 1, Houlton 0
At Houlton, Tyler Levesque scored with 14:40 left to give No. 10 Madawaska the win over No. 7 Houlton.
Paul Michaud stopped all 12 shots for 7-6-2 Madawaska.
Eben Thompson made 15 saves on 16 shots for 7-7-1 Houlton.
Schenck 7, Calais 1
At East Millinocket, Kerry Thompson scored three goals to help lead No. 6 Schenck past No. 11 Calais.
Aaron Waite scored two goals and assisted on two others for 6-8-1 Schenck and Will Hamlin added two goals. Nick Bishop had an assist and Lanny Thompson made nine saves on 10 shots.
Cory Johnston scored an unassisted goal for 7-8 Calais. Nick Provencher stopped 14 of 25 shots.
Penobscot Valley 2, Penquis 1
At Howland, Matt Cummings scored the game-winner with 13:25 left to lift No. 8 Penobscot Valley over No. 9 Penquis.
Cummings tied the game on a Andrew Hallett assist with 32:26 left for the 6-8-1 Howlers and Josh Ireland made 10 saves on 14 shots.
Nathan Allen scored an unassisted goal with 9:27 left in the first half for 6-9 Penquis of Milo. Drew Hamlin stopped 11 of 23 shots.
Shead 2, WA Raiders 0
At UMaine-Machias Monday, Patricia Candelmo and Laureta Ricker each had a goal plus an assist to lead the Tigerettes of Eastport to the DAC Championship.
Brittany Cox stopped all 11 shots she faced for 7-7-1 Shead while Meghann Rose had 13 on 15 for the 11-2 Raiders of East Machias.
