AUGUSTA – A team of Maine Indian educators, headed by Wayne Newell, a bilingual educator from the Indian Township School, will travel to Augusta on Friday, Oct. 22 to put on a workshop for superintendents and school board members across the state.
The workshop will be on the new law, LD291, which requires all Maine teachers to teach a unit on the Wabanaki Nation. Maine Indian Education is exploring innovative materials and teaching methods to help teachers fulfill this mandate.
