PORTLAND – Sean Bergenheim scored two goals to lead the Bridgeport Sound Tigers past the Portland Pirates 3-1 on Sunday.
Justin Mapletoft tallied assists on all three goals while Bridgeport goalie Dieter Kochan didn’t allow a goal through the first 50-plus minutes of play.
Following a scoreless first period, Bergenheim notched his second goal of the season on the power play at 15:56 of the second period, breaking an 0-for-29 string with the man advantage.
Bergenheim connected for his second of the evening on the power play 5:17 into the third period.
Owen Fussey put the Pirates on the scoreboard at 10:11 of the third.
Kevin Colley closed the scoring when he hit an empty net with 26 seconds remaining.
