Marketing, design award

Northern Log Homes was the recipient of the Excellence in Marketing and Home Design Award given by the Building Systems Council of the National Association of Homebuilders.

Chosen from more than 90 entries, Northern Log Homes was the winner for the finest consumer publication print ad. The jury, made up of industry professionals, said that the advertising was creative, unique and humorous.

Michael Hartt established Northern Log Homes in 1995. the company offers standard building packages and specializes in producing custom designed homes and cottages.

Sewing machines

Cote Bros. Sewing Machines has opened a store at 849 Sillwater Ave., Centre Mall.

The family owned business was established in Auburn in 1956 and is owned by Ron and Lisa Blake. Store managers are Debbie and Jeff Norton.

The business sells Bernina sewing machines and operates a sewing machine service department for all makes and models of sewing machines, including industrial machines. The stores repair technicians will make house calls.

Ribbon cutting ceremony

Countrywide Home Loans, 20 State St., celebrated on Nov. 16 the opening of its new office in Bangor. Those officiating at a ribbon cutting ceremony to mark the business’s opening were Bangor Mayor Frank Farrington, branch manager Michael Naylor and sales manager Carolyn Campbell.
