If one really wants to know the true meaning of “moral values” they should reflect on the life of Margaret Hassan. All the deaths in the Iraq war are senseless but her death is particularly tragic.
Dublin born, Ms. Hassan went to Baghdad with her Iraqi husband and dedicated her life to the Iraqi people. She worked for 30 years during the brutal regime of Saddam Hussein and during the brutal occupation we brought to her adopted country.
She was a bright light in a world that seems to have gone terribly wrong. In these times of hate, fear and warmongering her death diminishes us all.
