Jesse Speirs of Bangor took second place recently in a Plantations Junior Golf Tour event at Sea Trail Resort & Golf Links in Sunset Beach, N.C.

Speirs, competing among the 12- and 13-year-olds, posted scores of 69 Saturday and 75 Sunday for a 144 total.
