Heavy traffic
Two hundred twenty thousand vehicles are expected on the Maine Turnpike the day before Thanksgiving, one of the busiest travel days of the year. About 180,000 vehicles are predicted to use the toll highway each day for the rest of the holiday weekend.
Flight lines
Two thousand five hundred to 3,000 people are expected to fly out of Portland International Jetport on Wednesday.
Dinner for inmates
Maine Correctional Center prepared 500 pounds of turkey, 80 pounds of stuffing, 160 pounds of cranberry sauce, 150 pounds of butternut squash, 200 pounds of mashed potatoes, 30 gallons of gravy, 160 pounds of peas, 55 dozen rolls and 100 pumpkin pies with 30 pounds of whipped cream for 680 male inmates.
Turkey day outside
Fifty percent chance of snow in parts of western Maine on Thanksgiving. Winds may be between 20 and 25 mph in many areas.
