BRONX, N.Y. – Cassie Hintz of Stillwater and Levi Miller of Belfast turned in solid performances at the Foot Locker Cross Country Northeast Regional at Van Cortland Park Saturday.
Hintz, a junior at Old Town High School, finished 15th in the girls race with a time of 18 minutes, 47.8 seconds on the 5-kilometer course and Miller, a Belfast High senior, finished 17th in 16:02.3 in the boys race.
The top eight finishers qualified for the Foot Locker National Finals in San Deigo, Calif., Dec. 11.
In the boys race, Christopher Barnicle of Newton, Mass., was first with a time of 15:27.2. Ayalew Taye of Portland finished 10th in 15:54.6 and brother Sintayehu Taye was 24th with a time of 16:09.8.
Casey Diehl of Cumberland was 63rd with a time of 16:37.2.
Nicole Blood of Ganesvoort, N.Y., won the girls race with a time of 17:41.8. Allyson Koenig of Scarborough was the next-highest Maine finisher in 66th place with a time of 19:50.2.
