Lawrence High School, Fairfield

FAIRFIELD – The Lawrence High School Guidance Office this week released the names of the valedictorian and salutatorian for the Class of 2001. Graduation will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, June 1, at the high school.

Erika Nickerson has been named class valedictorian. While at Lawrence High School she has been a member of the National Honor Society, the Math Team, the Latin Club, the yearbook staff and the basketball team.

She will attend Bowdoin College in September.

Lauren Marshall has been named class salutatorian. While at Lawrence High School she was president of the National Honor Society, was class secretary, a member of the Renaissance Committee, served on the yearbook staff, was secretary of the Student Senate, was a member of the drama club and the French Club, and was captain of the basketball and soccer teams.

She will attend the University of Maine and will major in English.

Amy Hanscom and Joshua Gwadosky have been named class marshals.

Hanscom was vice president of the National Honor Society, captain of the soccer and softball teams, a member of the basketball team and of the French club. She will attend the University of Southern Maine where she will major in biology and pre-med.

Gwadosky was a member of the National Honor Society and Future Business Leaders of America and served as captain of the golf and basketball teams. He will attend St. Joseph’s College where he will major in history-pre-law.

The Senior Assembly Address will be made by William Dawson who was a member of the National Honor Society, Future Business Leaders of American, the Student Senate, the Math Team and the football team. He was treasurer of the senior class. He will attend Quinnipiac University, majoring in communications.

The Class Night Address will be made by Adam Thibodeau. While at Lawrence he served as editor of the yearbook, was a member of the drama club, French Club, Renaissance Committee, National Honor Society, and of the Student Senate. He will attend the University of Maine where he will major in liberal arts.
