JONESPORT – Peter Barton scored 10 of his 12 points in the third quarter to help lead the Jonesport-Beals Royals to a season-opening 76-63 schoolboy basketball win over the Narraguagus Knights Friday night.
The Royals stretched a five-point halftime lead to 18 points after three quarters.
Joseph Libby led the Royals with a game-high 22 points, Ross Griffin contributed 17, and Seth Griffin added 12.
Cory Worcester topped the Knights with 16 points, and Doug Hicks popped in 13.
