GREENVILLE – Much like ants moving food to and from their colony, municipal officials will be beating a path today carrying furniture and files from their old headquarters to their new digs across the street.
After more than 15 years of planning and wishing, town employees will move from their cramped municipal building into a spacious and modern facility.
Residents last year approved the construction of a $376,000 municipal building on Minden Street land purchased by the town. To make the move, the town office will be closed today and will reopen on Monday, Jan. 10.
The new facility will house the town office, the police department and code enforcement office.
The vacated building will be used by the fire department.
