A Bangor woman reported a break-in at her Essex Street home early Saturday morning, resulting in the theft of several bottles of prescription medications.

The woman said she was sleeping around 5 a.m. when someone entered her house and stole five bottles of pills containing 30 tablets of Klonopin, 24 of hydrocodone, 30 of Concerta, 24 of Augmentin and 45 of Phenergan. She said her back door, which is a common entry for the house, was unlocked. She had filled the prescriptions within the past two days, she said.

Police went to the Waterfront Bar & Grill in Bangor on Friday night after a report of an intoxicated man who had assaulted a patron.

Officer Shawn Green was met at the scene by a Littleton man who said that Matthew Ayotte, 26, of Greenbush had assaulted him after he had convinced Ayotte to give him his keys so he would not drive while drunk. Ayotte changed his mind after a few minutes and tried to take back his keys. When the man resisted, Ayotte grabbed and scratched his face and hands, resulting in cuts to his face.

According to police, Green saw Ayotte standing in the doorway to the bar and watched him flee into the men’s room. Green followed him and found Ayotte at a urinal. Green asked him to put his hands behind his back. Ayotte asked why, and Green again asked him to put his hands behind his back. When he complied, Green took hold of Ayotte’s left hand, and Ayotte then tried to free himself. Green held him in place until backup arrived.

Police reportedly searched Ayotte and found a small amount of marijuana. Ayotte was arrested and charged with assault, refusing to submit to arrest and possession of marijuana.

At around midnight Friday night, Officer Daniel Herrick answered a call from Barnaby’s at the Ramada Inn on the Odlin Road in Bangor.

Daniel “DJ” Laplante, 21, of Lincoln had been evicted from the club and, upon leaving, struck and kicked a glass door, shattering the glass. Laplante ran away and was located later behind Glidden’s Auto Repair. Laplante reportedly admitted to breaking the glass, agreed to pay for the damage and was summoned for criminal mischief.

Officer James Dearing arrived at the home of Leah Willis, 40, in response to a report of domestic assault. Willis said she asked her live-in boyfriend, Carlos Wormley, 30, to leave her house. Willis said Wormley grabbed, kicked and shoved her, and punched her three times in the face.

Dearing questioned Wormley, who was still on the premises, and he admitted to assaulting Willis. Wormley then gave the officer a bag full of needles and a spoon with a large amount of residue in it, saying that it was used for heroin and that it belonged to Willis. Willis reportedly admitted that the residue was heroin and that it was hers.

Willis was summoned for possession of a Schedule W drug, and Wormley was arrested for assault. At Penobscot County Jail, corrections officer William Sinnott reportedly found a small amount of marijuana in Wormley’s shoe.
