Ten Bucks Theatre to perform ‘Fawlty Towers’ segments

BREWER – Ten Bucks Theatre Co. will offer a mad-cap evening of humor and hysterics as they bring three classic “Fawlty Towers” segments: “Communication Problems,” “The Anniversary” and “Basil the Rat” to the stage.

See Basil Fawlty as the overbearing and much put upon proprietor of one of the wackiest hotels, ever. Complete with a cast of characters that will make audience members laugh until they cry, the hilarity is sure to warm up a cold winter’s night.

And if that isn’t enough, the fun also includes some hysterical “Monty Python” sketches, including “Parrots, Penguins, Wink-winkers, Nudge-nudgers” and “The Argument to End all Arguments.”

The cast includes Bob Libbey as Basil Fawlty, Julie Arnold Lisnet as Sybil Fawlty, Ron Adams as Manuel, John Greenman as The Major, Hillary Roberts as Polly, Tim Pugliese as Terry and a host of crazy hotel guests including A.J. Mooney, Kent McKusick, Jenny Bragdon, George Bragdon, Amanda Eaton, Keith Robinson, Dustin Sleight, Nick Willett and Paul O’Reilly.

The production is directed by Tamela Glenn, Allen Adams and John Greenman.

The show opens at 8 p.m. Friday, Jan. 28, at the Brewer Middle School Auditorium, 5 Somerset St., Brewer. It runs Jan. 29, 30, Feb. 4, 5 and 6. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m. and Sunday matinees are at 2 p.m. The box office opens a half-hour before show time. Payment is by cash or checks only.

Tickets are $10, $5 for children and students. College students need to show a school ID. Seats are not reserved and are on a first come, first served basis. Call 884-1030 for information and for ticket requests. Visit www.tenbuckstheatre.com for additional information.
