BANGOR – Seven champions were crowned at the ninth Maine Junior High School/Elementary Cheering Championships Saturday at the Bangor Auditorium.

Winning titles were: Cascade Brook of Farmington (Peewee A), Houlton Southside School (Peewee B), Woodland Elementary School (Peewee C), Lamoine School (Mixed), Monmouth Middle School (JHS C), Brewer Middle School (JHS B) and Mt. Blue Middle School of Farmington (JHS A).

Placing second were: Ellsworth Middle School (Peewee C), Dedham Middle School (Mixed), Peru Middle School (JHS C), Orrington Center Drive School (JHS B) and Waterville JHS (JHS A).

The event was sponsored by Wal-Mart.
