Brittany is a beautiful young girl with wavy, light brown hair, hazel eyes and a captivating smile. She is an engaging, friendly and outgoing girl. Some of the things Brittany loves are spaghetti with meatballs, hanging out with her friends, listening to her CDs and writing stories. A lover of animals, Brittany hopes one day to work with animals in some capacity.

Brittany and her three younger siblings came into the care of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services in May 2002. Parental rights have been terminated, and she is legally freed for adoption.

Now in the seventh grade, Brittany receives some special educational services to help with delays in reading and math. She likes school and is able to stay on task and to do the work that is requested of her.

Brittany has to work on language-processing challenges that affect her short-term memory. She is creative and does well in situations where she receives one-on-one attention.

The ideal family for Brittany would be a two-parent family or single-female parent who can provide a calm, structured environment. Brittany will need a lot of supervision and guidance. Her adoptive family should be patient and have a consistent parenting style.

Because of Brittany’s delays, she requires a significant amount of repetition. She thrives on positive attention and is thoughtful and kind to others by nature. It will be important for Brittany to have ongoing contact with her three younger siblings with whom she has a strong relationship.
