Bangor police arrest Orono man on pot charges

An Orono man who twice tried to avoid stopping for police early Sunday morning was charged with possession of marijuana and operating under the influence of marijuana.

Bangor police Officer James Dearing noticed a 2001 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck weaving between both lanes on State Street.

When Dearing tried to stop the truck near Harlow Street, the driver pulled away. The officer again had the vehicle pulled over only to see it take off.

Dearing then called for backup and had two other officers block the truck’s path. The driver, identified as Robert Treworgy, 21, finally stopped and nearly fell from the truck when asked to step out, the police report stated.

After Treworgy performed poorly on sobriety tests, the officer placed him under arrest. Dearing found two small baggies of marijuana when he searched Treworgy.

A female transient was arrested Saturday outside The Tavern on Main Street in Bangor after police gave her a criminal trespass warning and found out she had two active warrants.

Natasha Bone, 21, was told to leave the bar shortly after 9:30 p.m. While Bangor police officers were processing her warning, they found she had warrants for failure to pay fines.

Bone was taken to Penobscot County Jail.
