JACOB BERRY
Berry, a freshman from Camden Hills in Rockport, was named outstanding wrestler at the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference championships. Berry won the 125-pound weight class, defeating Tony Gilmore of Belfast 8-2 in the finals. Berry helped the Windjammers win their fourth straight conference title.
Small School (Classes C-D)
DAVIN PERKINS
Perkins, a senior forward for the Penquis of Milo boys basketball team, scored a team-high 16 points Friday as the Patriots defeated Dexter 42-38 in overtime to knock the Tigers from the unbeaten ranks. He then scored a team-high 15 points Tuesday as Class C Penquis topped Class B Hermon to improved its record to 11-2 on the season.
GIRLS
Big School (Classes A-B)
KATIE ANDRLE
The John Bapst of Bangor senior forward combined for 44 points in two Crusader wins on consecutive nights. Andrle scored 21 points in a 56-49 win over Brewer and had 23 in a 64-49 victory over Old Town Monday.
Small School (Classes C-D)
ASHLEY AMES
Ames, a 6-3 senior center, scored 43 points against Foxcroft Academy Tuesday to break the team’s modern record of 42 for most points scored in a game. She made 18 of 23 field-goal attempts, went 7-for-9 from the free-throw line, and added 15 rebounds, two assists, two steals and two blocks in the 79-37 victory. Ames also scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds in a 62-33 win over Mattanawcook last week. The Tigers are 14-0.
