Tomah fires up Dragons

WOODLAND – Sophomore Brandon Tomah scored 10 points off five steals in the fourth quarter to help Woodland pull away to a 57-48 schoolboy basketball victory over East Grand of Danforth on Thursday night.

Tomah finished with 27 points, nine steals, and eight rebounds for the Dragons. Steve Newell added 11 points.

Marcus Crocker scored 16 points for East Grand of Danforth and Mike Hanington had 13 points.

At Milo, senior guard Trisha MacDonald eclipsed the 1,000-point mark with her 15 points, including nine in the third quarter, as Stearns of Millinocket outscored Penquis 23-10 to erase a one-point halftime deficit.

MacDonald now has 1,004 career points.

Hilary Arsenault had 15 points for Stearns and Johnna Michaud had 12 more. Each had six third-quarter points.

Kate Hamlin’s 15 points and Mindy Dolley’s 11 paced Penquis.
