Kids’ ice fishing derby
STETSON – The annual K-9s for Kids Ice Fishing Derby will be held Feb. 19 – Kids’ Free Fishing Day – on Pleasant Lake.
The weigh-in and length station will be at White’s camp on Herb’s Landing.
Fish must be registered by 4 p.m. The entry fee is $5 with tickets available at Buda Belly’s, or call Terry White at 296-2929.
Prizes of $150, $125 and $100 will be awarded for heaviest bass and longest pickerel. The grand prize is $500 worth of home heating oil. Refreshments will be available on the lake. All proceeds benefit K-9s for Kids.
Snowmobile ride for charity
BREWER – The first annual Snowmobile Ride for the Children’s Miracle Network will be held Saturday, Feb. 12. The ride leaves the Brewer Wal-Mart parking lot at 8 a.m. sharp.
Registration will be held 7-8 a.m. inside the tire department at the store. Registration is a donation of $20 per sled, which includes lunch after the ride.
All drivers will be entered in drawings for prizes.

Youth basketball tournaments
ORONO – The Orono Parks and Recreation Department will offer two basketball tournaments for fifth- and sixth-graders.
The girls tournament will be held March 5-6. The boys tournament will be held March 12-13. All teams are guaranteed a minimum of four games.
The fee is $125 per tournament. No AAU teams. Space is limited. For information, call the recreation office at 866-5065.
Bowling for kids
BANGOR – The Bangor Parks and Recreation Department will sponsor spring bowling with Family Fun Lanes beginning at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 2.
The program will run 4-5 p.m. for eight weeks, ending April 20.
Children in kindergarten through grade five may register between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. weekdays at the Parks and Recreation office.
The fee is $15 for Bangor residents, $25 for others. For information, call 992-4490.
Little League meeting
HAMPDEN – Hampden-Newburgh Little League will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13, in Room 1 at Hampden Academy.
The meeting will be preceded by a coaching clinic with Coach Paul Kostacopolous from the University of Maine 4-5:30 p.m. in the gym.
Anyone interested in coaching should plan to attend.
