Dragons’ balance sinks Tigers

EASTPORT – The Woodland Dragons placed four players in double figures en route to an 81-40 boys basketball victory over Shead on Friday night.

Chase Smith topped the Dragon quartert with 15 points, Brandon Tomah posted 13, and Craig Moody and Brent Carlow added 10 each.

Dana Mitchell led the Tigers with 11 points, and Craig Hastings had nine.

Travis Bartley had 12 points and 11 rebounds. Jordan Guy also scored 12, Jordan Quint added 11, and Evan Carter had 12 rebounds and six blocks for the Hawks.

Silas Kelley scored 16 points for the Eagles.

At Rockport, Stephanie Bossie scored 18 points – including a 10-for-10 effort from the free-throw line – to lead the Black Raiders to the victory.

Bossie made six free throws in the fourth quarter, when Winslow made 13 of 18 from the line to rally from a seven-point deficit.

Kayla Gushee paced Camden Hills with 12 points, while Kristin Richards scored 10. Marianne Croce added eight points, eight rebounds, and four assists, while Samantha Wiley had eight points and seven rebounds.

Ashley Nemer scored 14 points, Mindy Chasse 12, and Whitney Flint nine for the Hornets, who had a game-tying shot at the end spin out.

Ashley Peabody topped the Wolverines with 16 points, and Robin Larlee posted nine.
