St. Francis Anglican Mission, formerly of Augusta, has officially changed its name to Holy Trinity Anglican Church. It has announced that it will become a full parish of the Diocese of the Northeast, Anglican Church in America, which is separate from the larger Episcopal Church. The congregation has elected a vestry, and Holy Trinity will be formally instituted as a parish in the spring by the Rt. Rev. George D. Langberg, bishop of the Diocese of the Northeast, Anglican Church in America. The visit by the bishop will coincide with the new parish’s first confirmations. The Rev. Mark Fitzgerald is vicar and will become the church’s rector. Holy Trinity meets at the Fairfield Community Center.
