Residents expect a quieter-than-usual town meeting at 7 tonight at Cherryfield Elementary School.
Among other items, they will vote whether to authorize the Fire Department to set up a reserve account toward a new truck.
Elections for town positions took place on Monday, March 7. Three people ran for the two open selectmen’s seats. Incumbent Margery Brown retained her seat with 68 votes, and challenger Richard Fickett took the second seat with 64 votes.
Alfred Moore placed third in the race with 30 votes, but won a different open seat as an assessor.
Steve Pagels won re-election to the school board and the town’s representative to SAD 37.
George Openshaw, a selectman the last five years, had vacated his seat.
