Corinth off-road biker ranks among top racers

PHOENIX – Adam Craig of Corinth maintained his ranking among the top competitors in the National Off-Road Biking Association after NORBA held its second meet of the season last weekend at McDowell Mountain Park.

Canadian Olympian Geoff Kabush swept the men’s time trial, short-track cross country and cross country races at McDowell Mountain and holds the overall lead in the NORBA point standings.

Craig placed second in the time trial, 26th in the short-track race and fifth in the cross country event, and now ranks 11th overall among the more than 100 men competing on the pro mountain biking circuit.

With the NORBA schedule now idle until summer, Craig plans to head back to Bend, Ore., where the Giant-sponsored racer has trained throughout the winter. He will compete in the Sea Otter Classic race in mid-April, then head to Europe to begin competing on the UCI (International Cycling Union) World Cup circuit.

Craig will compete in UCI events in Spa Francorchaps, Belgium, on April 24, Madrid, Spain (May 8), Houffalize, Belgium (May 29) and Willigen, Germany (June 5) before returning to the United States to prepare for a UCI race at Mont Ste. Anne, Quebec, on June 26.
