The following area residents received military honors:

. Coast Guard Petty Officer First Class Archie Rivers, son of Christine Power of Winter Harbor and Archie Rivers of Old Town, recently was named “Sailor of the Quarter” for U.S. Coast Guard cutter Reliance, home ported in Portsmouth, N.H. Rivers is a 1982 graduate of Sumner Memorial High School in Sullivan.

. Army Reserve Pvt. Joshua Dickey, son of Tina and David Dickey of North Anson, has graduated from basic combat military training at Fort Sill in Lawton, Okla. He is a 2005 graduate of Carrabec High School in North Anson.

. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Kari A. Ward, granddaughter of Evelyn and Brian Porter of Monroe, has graduated from the Noncommissioned Officer Academy at McGuire Air Force Base in Wrightstown, N.J. She is a 1991 graduate of Mount View High School in Thorndike.
